Sunny day, rainy nights

Today, we went to check a new resort called “tree house”, had to go by jeep as the road is very rough, it is in the middle of the forest, the place has 10 cottages, swimming pool, recreation center, conference room, tree house etc … The owners have been working in Dubai for few years and you see from the look of the deco that it is all a bit too flashy, especially for a forest stay !! after that we are off to the near city, gigi who’s our engineer is stopping his car and ask me if I would be keen to drive ! I took the challenge, it’s a hill road, not so busy, coming down is good, I feel ok but keeping to much to my left it seems, they are actually telling me to drive in the middle of the road and to move only when needed, I straight away asked for the hooter, no hooter no drive possible !! every move you make, the hoot goes, after about 20mn , we’ r reaching the city, traffic is becoming more dense, buses, tracks, rickshaws, motorbikes, people …. I am keeping calm and concentrate, and bringing us safely to Aji our carpenter, we’re checking our windows, designing the doors, mentioning the kitchen table, bed … His mother & family are there and we are spending some time socialising, while evolving on our project.

Back to our place, we decide to go for a walk, the forest is beautiful and the greens are omnipresent, the sky is showing some lighting, rain should be coming soon, the idea makes us smile and we hope it will reach our place to nourish our earth; The power has failed, the whole village is in darkness, the computer is giving us light, itunes ‘s on and I’m making a music compilation for Shahul, from Jill Scott, to Yuri Buenaventura, passing by Barabara Streisand, Diana Krall, Otis Redding and so on, rain is making her own music , time for some Malayalam lesson, well, you know that say when you learn a language you should always start by the bad words, so we did and had good laugh at it, it is amazing how easier you remember those words and how funny it sounds for the one who’s teaching in to you; s my best is “poda marré” which I won’t translate ( the kéralites will understand) … Now rain is falling heavily, still no light, we have arranged some dinner, we asking some of the students for umbrellas, (at least one !) The place is really dark, the light phone is lighting the road and “bras dessus, bras dessous” we’re reaching, inside only one fine candle to light the whole place, but it is actually enough to found the way form our hand to our mouth, dahl, chutney and parotta is tonight’s diner, the return is a bit more “tricky” to see, but I feel safe in the arms on my guide even if few times we got off the road !! It is time for bed now, I’m thankful for the day and every breath I’m taking …
